On this course you will explore a variety of mixed media, methods and techniques to produce creative artwork and develop your skills through observation and experimentation.

You will develop an in-depth exploration of Art History, colour theory, painting applications and drawing skills.

The tutor will give you guidance to achieve your goals which you can adapt to make your own creations by considering design, form and function.

The Road to Wellbeing courses are relaxed and informal, enabling you to improve your wellbeing and mental health, building your self-confidence and self-esteem. Attending our classes is a great way of meeting new people, making friends and developing personal and vocational skills.

Duration - 8-12 weeks – half a day per week either morning or afternoon.

You will be expected to attend each week.

The course will include aspect such as: 2D processes including collage, decoupage, and printmaking, 3D processes such as working with Papier Mache, soft sculpture using fabric, wire, string and wool, air drying clay, wire and plaster scrim bandage to create 3D sculptures.

Our courses are for anyone aged 19+ who is experiencing or recovering from mental ill-health.

There are no tests or exams. Whilst the outcomes include developing artistic skills and knowledge the main intent is to improve your wellbeing whilst taking part in a learning activity. We ask you to score this on a scale of 1-5 at the beginning and end of the course.

You will have the opportunity to progress to Level 1 and Level 2 qualifications within Community Health or on to other courses, training or employment.

Boundervean Resource Centre

Boundervean Resource Centre, located in Camborne, is one of ten resource centres dedicated to supporting its local community. Operated by the Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, the centre provides a welcoming space for individuals who have engaged with a mental health team in the past or are currently receiving mental health support.

The centre offers a variety of drop-in sessions, services, and activities designed to assist adults experiencing severe and enduring mental health challenges, fostering connection, recovery, and well-being within the community.
