We offer one of the widest ranges of vocational courses from Aircraft Engineering to Visual Art, with all subject areas located in dedicated learning environments, giving you focused quality training with industry led programmes to deliver key skills. 

At Cornwall College Camborne our specialist courses will give you the right environment to explore, discover and progress.  Whether you are interested in catering, hairdressing, construction or media; our highly practical courses are designed to allow you to grow in confidence and ability, giving you the chance to progress to University study or employment. 

As well as full-time courses, we also offer apprenticeships across a wide range of subjects and we also provide professional qualifications for people looking to enhance their career prospects and aspirations. 

We are recognised as Cornwall’s #1 provider of construction trade skills, we manage one of the top 3 college restaurants in the UK, have an award-winning Games Design and Media department and we are the only college in Cornwall to offer Aeronautical Engineering; with our very own jet based at Newquay airport. 

While on campus, you can enjoy a wide variety of facilities including; a fully equipped gym, sports hall and all-weather football pitch, a commercial hair & beauty salon, student shop, restaurant coffee shop and all students have access to our Learning Centre, to help support your studies.

Media & Animation Diploma

Level 2 • Full-time • Cornwall College Camborne, Cornwall College St Austell


Do you love film, television, and animation, and want to find out more about how to use a camera to create and edit videos, or generally have an interest in entertaining media; the Media and Animation Diploma Level 2 course is your first step in a career within the media sector. The diploma is coursework based, meaning there are no exams as part of the media course. It’s all about giving you the practical skills and experience behind the camera, in a project management role to lead a production. You’ll learn about and put to good use a selection of professional equipment; Canon and Nikon DSLRs with a range of lenses, Sony and Panasonic Camcorders, GoPro, Tascam and Zoom recorders, Shot-gun, lapel, phantom powered microphones; accessories – shoulder mounts, Camera-cranes, Dolly and Track, DJI Ronin-s motorised 3 axis gimbal, 1, 2 and 3 point lighting systems for indoor studio and outdoor use. You’ll take full advantage of the Television and sound studio with a permanent microphone, mixing desk and dedicated PC, and a Green-Screen with dedicated space. In post you’ll use Adobe Creative Suite, including Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Animate, After effects, Illustrator, InDesign, Light room etc. As well as using all this industry-standard equipment as part of your studies, you’ll also be part of visiting lectures who will speak about their experiences and how to get into the industry yourself. There are several free media trips each year to local events and competitions which will play a huge part in developing your understanding of routes into the creative sector. As a Level 2 course, this diploma is all about introducing you to the Media industry and developing your essential skills to progress onto the level 3 media or games design courses specifically, and from there, on to employment or university. You’ll be learning from experienced practicing media professionals, who are here to give you the very best start to your career.

Changing Food Styles and Trends

A look into current food trends and styles. This course identifies how classic dishes are adopted and upcycled to create the industry leading dishes we see today. You will cook the classic dishes with modern twists identifying how these classics are improved. This course will run from 9:00- 15:30 and there will be a £10 fee for materials

Silver Stacking Rings Beginners Jewellery Workshop

No Qualification • Part-time • Cornwall College Camborne


During this one day workshop you are guaranteed to leave with a set of three silver stacking rings to wear yourself or give to someone as a gift. Throughout the day you will learn basic jewellery techniques, such as sizing, soldering, filing, texturing and polishing. This workshop is a great introduction to working with silver and can be followed by our Silver Jewellery Beginners course. These workshops are now full. DIY Cycle Maintenance Workshop

No Qualification • Part-time • Cornwall College Camborne


At this workshop you will learn how to repair a puncture, change a tyre and adjust the brakes and gears on your own bike. You will also learn about bicycle ergonomics and how to source cheap parts. Please bring your own bicycle to this workshop if possible. We suggest that you bring a packed lunch and any other refreshments with you that you my require. This workshop is now full. The Learning Centre (LC) Team offers learners, staff and visitors a sense of college community within a friendly, inclusive learning environment. We are information specialists who are here to help you with finding, using & assessing information in any format.  Wcan support you with:

The Hub Coffee Shop

Located in the large Trelawney building in the centre of the campus, all students have access to a dedicated shop and coffee bar.  Here students can find essential stationery supplies, art equipment, food and drinks, gifts, greeting cards, stamps and a wide selection of gadgets including USB sticks and earphones. The shop accepts card payments (minimum £3 spend).

Student Union

The Cornwall College Student Union (CCSU) exists to represent your voice and views at every level in the College and to make sure you have a fantastic time while you are a student studying with us.

Every campus has a team of elected students who work hard all year round on your behalf, from organising parties, to running campaigns and arranging volunteering opportunities including helping young people in Kenya.

You can get involved in a huge range of activities and have the power to determine what happens on campus. We go on college trips that students pick to help enhance your student experience and we raise money for charities.

As a Cornwall College student, you are automatically a member of the Student Union, giving you access to our dedicated student areas where you can meet, chat and relax with friends.

And if you really want a challenge, you can get even more involved and have your voice heard by running for a vice chair and student chair position, as well as helping to arrange our annual Student Star Awards.
