This course offers you the skills required to gain employment as a nail technician at Level 2 Standard. You will receive training in manicure, pedicure, nail art, and nail enhancements.
With nail bars becoming a commonplace on the high street, this course will equip you with the essential skills to start employment in this fast growing industry. This is suitable for students new to the beauty industry wanting to become a nail technician in a nail bar or beauty salon.
You will be required to attend college three/four days a week and complete a work placement alongside this course whilst attending college.
You will need to complete external work experience for one day a week.
On this course you will get to develop you work based skills; recognising the importance of professional practice. You will learn how to:
Provide manicure services
Provide pedicure services
Carry out nail services
Apply and maintain nail enhancements to create a natural finish
Fulfil salon reception duties
Develop and maintain effectiveness at work
Promote additional services or products to customers

Our tutors are industry professionals and they will demonstrate the practical techniques as well as best practice so that you can be sure that you are equipped with the skills and know-how to perform these services independently.
Practical skills are developed on hand trainers and peers. Once a level of competence is reached clients are to be used for assessment. Theory is delivered alongside each unit and assessed with exams.
Students will be expected to wear uniform and present themselves in a professional manner as practical work will be assessed in the commercial salon.
