A local college is lighting up in lockdown to show support to the NHS and Key Workers who are continuing to work tirelessly during this time.
Cornwall College St Austell are lighting up a building in blue and white every evening at 11pm.
The blue is to show support for the NHS and the white corner is to show a “beacon of hope” for everyone and outwardly show that together everyone will get through this, at this difficult time.
Head of Cornwall College St Austell, Mark Wardle, explained the College wanted to “show our appreciation as a college for the NHS staff and key workers whose dedication to serving the community in this unprecedented situation is so valued by all of us at St Austell.”
“As a college, we are working closely with all of our students to support them towards achieving their qualifications in this difficult time so they can make a positive contribution to the community in the future,” Mark continued.
“We are also developing our Health & Social Care provision in partnership with Cornwall Care to train the key workers of the future.”
Cornwall College St Austell is hosting a virtual open day for all 16-18 school leavers on Thursday 14th May 5-7pm.
Hosted online, prospective learners and their families can learn more about the wide range of full time courses on offer at the local college, as well as learning about some of the new programmes for September 2020 including Childcare, Health & Social Care and Business.
Potential students will receive a welcome from the Head of College and course tutors will be sharing information about the courses available and the support potential students can expect to receive.
