Coveted Apprenticeship Games spot up for grabs at virtual quiz
Apprenticeship teams in Devon and Cornwall are being invited to take part in a virtual quiz, with the winners landing a guaranteed spot at Apprenticeship Games 2021.
As part of the National Apprenticeship Week celebrations, The Cornwall College Group (TCCG) is hosting, ‘Build the Future’, a 1970’s inspired virtual quiz.
“We are really excited to host our first virtual quiz,” commented Justin Olosundѐ, Assistant Principal External Engagement and Business Innovation at TCCG.
“Our quiz aims to celebrate the skills and commitment of apprentices and their businesses during National Apprenticeship Week in a fun and interactive way.
“The winning team will win a guaranteed place at our renowned Apprenticeship Games, which are being held in the summer at Bicton College.”
TCCG created something truly unique for the apprenticeship sector when it launched The Apprenticeship Games.
With a desire to do something different that would be fun, challenging and inspiring, there was also a determination to give apprentices a day of their own, in the same way A Level students have their results day.
Since its inception in 2017, the Games have grown significantly in size and scope, and have become a must-have ticket for the region’s businesses and organisations with apprentices.
Hosted on a different campus each year at TCCG, businesses and organisations with apprentices battle it out in a range of events testing their mental, physical and creative skills.
Each team tackles a quiz round with mascots and buzzers, alongside challenges involving cooking, hair and nails, pit-stop tyre changes, gaming, childcare, heavy agricultural machinery and military muscle.
Each team must be made up of four members to include existing and previous apprentices, and can also include their line manager.
To register your place at the virtual quiz, make sure you keep an eye out on the college’s social media from 13th January. The first 10 teams to enter will compete in the virtual quiz at the end of January, with the quiz show streamed across social media on Wednesday 10th February.
National Apprenticeship Week 2021 aims to shine a light on the amazing work being done by employers and apprentices across the country.
The 14th annual National Apprenticeship Week will take place from 8 to 14 February 2021.
The annual week-long celebration of apprenticeships, taking place across England, will showcase how apprenticeships have helped employers and people of all ages and backgrounds.
