A relaxed and inspirational painting course designed to help beginners to get started with painting, whilst also supporting more advanced painters to develop their skills and techniques. You will be required to provide you own materials for this course so please bring any pencils, paper and acrylic or watercolour paints and brushes you may already have. We advise you not to buy anything new until you have spoken to the tutor at the first lesson where a suggested materials list will be supplied if required. This is a FREE* course - apply for a place now. * This course will be free for students who will be 19+ as of 31.08.21 and have not attended the course before. If you have already attended this course and wish to repeat it a fee will apply. This course runs on a Tuesday evening from 6.30pm to 8.30pm for 10 or 8 weeks. Creative Art – Your Road to Wellbeing

This course will focused on the wellbeing of making – Led by The Creative Gym founder and tutor Nicky Harwood. You will be able to access a variety of techniques and learn skills such as printing, macramé, lino printing, weaving and watercolour painting. The tutor will give you guidance to achieve your goals and you can adapt them to make your own creations. Your road to wellbeing courses are relaxed and informal, enabling you to improve your wellbeing and mental health, building your self-confidence, and a great way to make friends. Our courses are for anyone aged 19 plus who is experiencing or recovering from mental illness. Our courses run one day per week, over 10 to 13 weeks per term. If you miss the start of the course don’t worry, you can join the courses at any time.

Photography – Creative – Commercial

If you are interested in a career in photography and have your sights set on a future in the creative industries then look no further as this is the course for you. The course is constructed with practical projects and hands on learning – you’ll be spending a lot of time taking photographs in and out of college. This course is delivered at both Cornwall College Camborne and Cornwall College St Austell. You will work on projects that are written to allow you to develop skills in both digital and analogue processes across a range of photographic applications. By the end of the course you will have a diverse portfolio to take to employers, universities or to show clients. At the end of each year of study you will be given the chance to choose your own specialism and create a completely individual product based on the strengths and skills you have developed. What will you create? The choice is yours! You will go on trips to various locations and visit photographer’s studios. These are a great opportunity to meet and question current industry professionals. You will also have the opportunity to go on the annual London trip that includes accommodation at a 3* hotel, seeing the work of professional photographers exhibited at National Portrait Gallery and Photographers Gallery, Visiting V&A museum being in a live TV studio audience, meeting and working with professional photographers, 3D IMAX screening, a West End show, a ride on the London Eye, Street Photography in the capital and so much more. You’ll be learning from experienced working professional photographers, who are always on hand to give you the very best start to your photographic career.
