Our Surf Science programmes at Newquay University Centre are university-level qualifications – Foundation Degree (FdSc) and Cert HE – designed for people who want to understand the mechanics of surfing and build a career in or around the surf industry.

Based in Newquay – the home of UK surfing – you’ll study oceanography, biomechanics and environmental science alongside coaching theory and shaping sessions with Skindog Surfboards. With a dedicated classroom on Fistral Beach, you’ll split your time between classroom learning, lab work, field trips and time in the water.

This isn’t a hobby course. It’s academic, applied and shaped by real surf culture.
