The purpose of the Level 2 Certificate in Cyber Security is to provide learners with sector awareness. It will do this by introducing the knowledge and understanding in roles and issues relating to Cyber Security.

The secondary purpose is to act as a stepping stone that will lead learners into studying Cyber Security at a higher level.

This course will support individuals looking to gain a greater understanding or build upon their existing knowledge of Cyber Security issues.

This will likely be with a view to studying the subject at a higher level and/or seeking employment in a Cyber Security related role.

Bursaries available

The Cornwall College Group (TCCG) is committed to helping as many adults as possible to access our courses and we may be able to offer support with essential equipment such as a laptop to complete your online course. Students would need to meet the criteria for ASF funding and for bursary to be eligible for a laptop. The laptop would only be loaned for the duration of your studies, so you would not be allowed to keep it afterwards. All laptops would need to be returned to Cornwall College St Austell after completion of your course. (Cornwall College St Austell, Tregonissey Road, St Austell, Cornwall, PL25 4D).

Unit 1: Introduction to cyber security
Unit 2: Understand terminology used in cyber security
Unit 3: Understand legal and ethical aspects of cyber security
Unit 4: Understand common threats to cyber security
Unit 5: Understand methods of maintaining cyber security
Unit 6: Working with others in cyber security

Aged 19+ at the beginning of the academic year and will need to have the right to study in the UK and been a resident for a minimum of 3 years.

The qualification is assessed by internally set and marked assessments subject to external quality assurance. Where indicated in the unit specifications, assessment must meet the requirements of the identified assessment strategy/principles.

Materials for internal assessment must be submitted to The E-Assessor Pro Platform for approval prior to use and must be mapped to the relevant unit, learning outcome and assessment criteria. All learning outcomes must be met to achieve a Pass – there is no grading.

• Level 3 Diploma in IT User Skills
• Level 3 Award in Cyber Security Leadership
• Level 3 Foundation Technical Level IT: Cyber Security.
