An Introduction to Baking

Cake Baking Courses This introductory workshop is aimed at complete beginners to baking and cake making. By the end of the workshop you will be able to confidently create a range of popular baked items that you can adapt for your own celebrations.

This course is free, however, there is a fee of £30 to cover ingredients and teaching materials.

What you will learn

If you have never made a cake before, or have made a cake but struggled to make it rise properly, taste delicious or look as it should, then this is the class for you!

We will go back to basics, including the science behind baking and learning what each ingredient does. You will learn the essential skills of baking so that you can apply them to any cake or recipe.

Assessment

Learners will be assessed through observation and oral questioning.

Progression

If you enjoy the experience and want to study further, then the progression route would be to enrol on our Level 2 Professional Cookery course.
