Pride and celebration at Cornwall College Group graduation

Hundreds of graduates from across Cornwall and Devon marked the culmination of their studies at the Cornwall College Group’s Higher Education graduation ceremony, held in the spectacular surroundings of Truro Cathedral.

More than 250 students from Cornwall College University Centre, Newquay University Centre, Duchy College, Falmouth Marine School, Cornwall College University Centre at the Eden Project and The Golf Education Partnership came together to celebrate their academic achievements at the annual graduation event.

The day featured two ceremonies highlighting accomplishments across an impressive range of programmes, from agriculture and marine sciences to tournament golf, counselling, engineering and more.

Among those celebrating were the first graduating cohort of the HNC Professional Superyacht Engineering programme, delivered by Falmouth Marine School, marking an important milestone for this innovative course designed to meet the global demand for skilled marine engineers.

Rob Bosworth, CEO of Cornwall College Group, praised graduates on their achievement:

“Earning a degree is never easy, and each of our graduates has shown remarkable resilience, determination and passion to reach this moment,” said Rob.

“Throughout their studies, they’ve overcome challenges, balanced commitments and developed skills that will serve them for life. The expertise they’ve gained through our university centres across Cornwall will now help them make their mark on the world, as professionals, innovators and leaders in their communities.”

Family, friends and college staff filled the cathedral to cheer on the graduates, whose success represents the very best of higher education across the South West.

The keynote addresses were delivered by Perran Moon, MP for Camborne and Redruth, and Professor Lisa Roberts, President & Vice-Chancellor of the University of Exeter, who each spoke on the power of education to change lives and strengthen communities.

Among those attending were several VIP guests from industry, community organisations and CCG’s academic partners, which include Plymouth Marjon University, University of Plymouth, Falmouth University and the University of Exeter.

The celebration comes in a milestone year for the Cornwall College Group, which was granted Degree Awarding Powers by the Office for Students, further strengthening its position as a leading provider of higher education in the region.

CCG continues to provide high-quality, accessible higher education options across Cornwall and Devon. With more than 60 industry-aligned specialist courses, the organisation is dedicated to equipping learners with the knowledge and skills needed to excel in their chosen fields.
