Understanding Environmental Sustainability Level 2 (Online) (TQUK) Adult

Course information

The purpose of the qualification is to develop learners’ knowledge and understanding of a range of topics relating to environmental sustainability including control of global warming, reducing carbon emissions, alternative energy sources, conservation, environmental monitoring and energy management.

The qualification forms part of a wide-ranging strategy of sustainability improvement.

Bursaries available

The Cornwall College Group (TCCG) is committed to helping as many adults as possible to access our courses and we may be able to offer support with essential equipment such as a laptop to complete your online course. Students would need to meet the criteria for ASF funding and for bursary to be eligible for a laptop. The laptop would only be loaned for the duration of your studies, so you would not be allowed to keep it afterwards. All laptops would need to be returned to Cornwall College St Austell after completion of your course. (Cornwall College St Austell, Tregonissey Road, St Austell, Cornwall, PL25 4D).

What You Will Learn

Unit 1: Principles of sustainable development
Unit 2: Principles of sustainable communities
Unit 3: Principles of sustainable energy management
Unit 4: Social responsibility of businesses in relation to sustainability
Unit 5: Principles of waste management
Unit 6: Principles of sustainable transport

Entry Requirements

Aged 19+ at the beginning of the academic year and will need to have the right to study in the UK and been a resident for a minimum of 3 years.

Assessment

The qualification is assessed by internally set and marked assessments subject to external quality assurance. Where indicated in the unit specifications, assessment must meet the requirements of the identified assessment strategy/principles. Materials for internal assessment must be submitted to The Equal Platform for approval prior to use and must be mapped to the relevant unit, learning outcome and assessment criteria. All learning outcomes must be met to achieve a Pass – there is no grading.
