The Ecological Skills Bootcamp offers a dynamic, hands-on learning experience aims at developing the practical skills, tools, and ecological knowledge required to make a meaningful impact in biodiversity conservation and ecosystem management. Designed to empower participants, the course fosters confidence, critical thinking, and professional competence, enabling learners to actively engage with real-world challenges in the ecological sector.

• Ecological surveying
• Geographic Information Systems / Phase 1
• Camera traps and footprint tunnels
• Large mammal surveys
• Dormouse intro and surveying methods
• Tree Health and Tree ID
• Quadrats and transects
• Monitoring Environmental Changes
• Plant ID and Soil Analysis
• Environmental Data Analysis
• Careers/academic skills

Either employed or self-employed and looking to enter or progress within the ecology, conservation, and environmental management sectors.

Teaching sessions will take place in the Eden outer estate, with hands-on experience with field activities.

An interview exercise, to prepare students for future employment opportunities by enhancing their communication, self-presentation, and professional reflection skills in a supportive, constructive setting.

Successful completion of this Level 3 programme offers a solid foundation for continued study in the environmental sector —such as foundation degrees, undergraduate programmes—or to Higher Apprenticeships in fields such as Environmental Science, Ecology, Wildlife Conservation, Countryside Management, or Agriculture.
