Course information

Introduction to Creative Writing will enable you to translate your ideas into a work of fiction with a beginning, middle and end.

Each class on this 6-week course will include a discussion of a specific technique used by a professional writer, facilitating your development of your creative vision. In a friendly, supportive atmosphere, through focusing on character, you will learn how to build drama, add humour and create tension.

Material fee of £5.

- What are plot, storyline and narrative?
- How to use your characters’ desires, needs and flaws to create tension.
- How to write authentic dialogue.
- How to execute a climactic conclusion.
- How to give constructive feedback.
- How to use feedback to develop your creative vision.

Following on from this course, you may opt to take one of our creative media courses such as our Level 3 Film and Television course, or go on to study Creative Writing and English at University level. You may decide to continue your writing into a full novel and try and get it published.
