This Intermediate evening course is suitable for those who have had some previous experience of pottery.


This course offers the opportunity to work across a broad range of processes inc. hand building, throwing, surface decoration and glaze application, while gaining or advancing your skills.


Through your personal projects there will be opportunities to develop existing skills and experience while learning new skills and techniques in a creative, relaxed atmosphere.

Materials are provided but please bring an apron or old shirt to protect your clothes and your footwear should not be open toed.

This course runs on a Wednesday evening from 6.30pm to 8.30pm for 10 weeks or 8 weeks (depending on the lenght of the term).

Creative Art – Your Road to Wellbeing

This course will focused on the wellbeing of making – Led by The Creative Gym founder and tutor Nicky Harwood. You will be able to access a variety of techniques and learn skills such as printing, macramé, lino printing, weaving and watercolour painting. The tutor will give you guidance to achieve your goals and you can adapt them to make your own creations. Your road to wellbeing courses are relaxed and informal, enabling you to improve your wellbeing and mental health, building your self-confidence, and a great way to make friends. Our courses are for anyone aged 19 plus who is experiencing or recovering from mental illness. Our courses run one day per week, over 10 to 13 weeks per term. If you miss the start of the course don’t worry, you can join the courses at any time.

Drawing For Beginners (Evening)

This short course aims to teach you two things – how to train your eye to see the shapes of the things you’re looking at from your particular viewpoint and then how to get those shapes down on paper to make a convincing drawing. Practice in these skills will give you a sound working method to draw whatever subject you want. This is an ideal beginner’s course. You will be required to provide your own materials for this course and a suggested materials list will be provided nearer the start date.
