Course information

This exciting course will introduce you to the basic principles of photography, you will gain an understanding of the exposure triangle, using the ISO, Aperture and Shutter Speed to find the perfect exposure.

You will also explore compositional guidelines enabling you to create amazing images.

This course is perfect if you are just starting out in photography or would like to develop your skills further. You will also gain understanding of the use of light with shadows and contrast and how to use natural light effectively, the use of colour and processing images in the darkroom.

You will be given the chance to take part in small workshop set ups to experiment with close up photography and refraction.

You will require your own DSLR or Mirrorless Camera, SD card and Memory Stick to sign up to the Course.

£5 material fee

Learners will be able to shoot in full manual mode, have complete control over their settings, download and save files effectively, develop the skills of metering in order to find the correct exposure and be able to compose their images effectively. Learners will also learn how to control their lighting effectively using both natural and artificial lighting whilst understanding the contrast and the effect it has on their images.

They will also learn how to set up and create exciting images for close up photography.

This course has an added excitement of being able to use our amazing darkroom and learn how to develop images from a 35mm film, pinhole image and photograms.
