If you're looking to improve your understanding and awareness of learning difficulties, this is the course for you. You will learn about a range of specific learning difficulties, including ADHD, dyslexia and dyscalculia. It's great for people working in a variety of sectors, such as healthcare, social care and education.

  What You Will Learn

The characteristics of ADHD, ADD, dyslexia and dyscalculia
How specific learning difficulties can affect children and adults in different ways
The importance of early diagnosis
The various assessment methods available to diagnose specific learning difficulties
How individuals can be supported to gain, start and continue with study and employment

My time at Cornwall College has quite literally changed my life. Completing the access course has allowed me to progress onto university and fulfill my dream of becoming a midwife.

I chose Cornwall College as the hours for the access course suited my family commitments. After attending an open day, I was also impressed with the support available to students.

The support I have received from my lecturers, my tutor and fellow students has been amazing. After being out of education for 15 years the access course has given me the skills and confidence to progress onto university. The learning curve over the last 9 months has been incredible and I will be forever grateful to those that supported me.

This course will be delivered at Cornwall College St Austell campus, and will be offered on two other occasions this academic year, both in college, for those that prefer in person training, and once online to support others unable to travel.
