Return of the College’s Apprenticeship Games

The much-anticipated annual Apprenticeship Games, hosted by The Cornwall College Group (TCCG), are set to kick off this February as part of the National Apprenticeship Week.

Now in its seventh consecutive year, the nationally recognised competition will see some of the best employers and businesses in the region competing alongside their apprentices, to take home the iconic torch trophy.

On Wednesday 7th of February, the following teams will battle it out for gold, silver and bronze awards at the Camborne campus:

South West Water, Cornwall CouncilA&P FalmouthFugro GeoServices LtdPendennis ShipyardPall CorporationBDKings Service CentreImerysWales & WestRittalTeam PESCCormacSerco Engineering and Asset Management.

This year, the competition promises a blend of dynamic and interactive challenges to test their communication, technical and networking skills, as well as putting their leadership, teamwork and communication skills to the ultimate test.

Head of Apprenticeships at TCCG, Teresa Copping, described the games as “a significant highlight in our calendar.”

Teresa continued: “The competition unites businesses and apprentices across vital sectors, celebrating their shared appreciation for the value of apprenticeships.”

Cathie Kessel, employment and apprenticeship officer at Cornwall Opportunities, who are the main sponsors for this year’s event, is “delighted to support, recognise and celebrate local apprentices in such a fun and engaging way.”

Concorde RecruitmentCCB and South West Water are supporting this year’s competition, alongside the main sponsors of the Games, Cornwall Opportunities.
