BD apprentice scoops award

An apprentice from global medical technology company, BD has been named a winner of the Apprenticeship Award at Cornwall College’s Engineering Skills Centre, Plymouth sponsored by Hayley Group.

Demonstrating great resilience and persistence whilst undertaking his work, Jacob Greaves received unanimous backing from the judges.
Jacob also won a Vernier Calliper gifted by the Hayley Group Cornwall branch.

“Jacob’s attitude and resilience is a great quality to possess and build upon,” commented Luke Bazeley, Head of Campus at the Engineering Skills Centre, Estover, Plymouth.
“Our Apprenticeship Awards, are ongoing throughout the year to recognise and reward our apprentices for various achievements. We are grateful to Hayley Groups Cornwall Branch who have kindly provided us with the prizes to support our apprentices within their career.”

Apprenticeship Program Manager, Jonathan Seymour at CCB Training, presented Jacob with his prize provided by Hayley-Group Cornwall Branch, and explained that Jacob’s “dedication and persistent really stood out”.
“He doesn’t let mistakes get him down and gives 100% in everything he does, a well-deserved win,” he added.

Kelvin Wills from Hayley Group Cornwall branch said The Hayley Group has always been associated with the engineering industry.
“As a local supplier we are pleased to be able to support The Cornwall College Group and its engineering students,” he continued.
“Our congratulations to the Jacob and we wish him well with his future in the engineering industry.”
