Free webinar to help with difficult workplace conversations

Businesses from across Cornwall are being invited to develop their team’s skills around difficult conversations, to empower them and increase their confidence.

CCB Training part of The Cornwall College Group will be hosting their free online webinar, “Workplace conversations ….. the tricky ones you’ve been meaning to have”, on Friday 6th November, 10.30am – 12pm.

This event is part of the Cornwall Chamber of Commerce’s, Cornwall Festival of Business; a week-long festival created to inspire the business community, encourage innovation and provide information.

“Difficult, tricky or awkward conversations, call them what you will, these conversations are often, a key area of challenge that many managers will face during their leadership journey,” stated Pilar Torres-Subire, Developing Leaders Programme Lead and Training Consultant at CCB Training.

“During this webinar we will identify why these difficult conversations are needed. Share ideas on how to approach these conversations and consider how our actions and behaviours could help us to avert the need for this type of conversation,” continued Pilar.

Attendees will be encouraged to share their own hint, tips and best practice.

The Developing Leaders project aims to inspire, enhance and engage leadership skills through a suite of programmes that can be accredited from Level 2 to Level 5 by the Chartered Management Institute (CMI). All courses are fully-funded subject to criteria and in response to Covid-19 these programmes are delivered online.

“This exciting project will not only develop skills for those taking their first steps onto the leadership ladder, but also provide opportunities for those operating at a strategic level to work together with other senior leaders across the region,” Pilar added.

Developing Leaders is a three-year project ending in May 2021 and Pilar urged companies and individuals to attend the event, as places are limited. Alternatively, people can contact CCB to take up this training opportunity while the funding is available.

The Developing Leaders project is funded from the European Social Fund as part of the 2014-2020 European Structural and Investment Funds Growth Programme in England, for small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) or public sector organisations.
