Course information

The NPORS N214 Ride on Roller Novice course is designed for individuals with little to no experience operating a ride-on road roller. It covers pre-start checks, site travel, manoeuvring, compaction techniques, and safety procedures, culminating in a theoretical and practical assessment to earn an Operator Card.

A NPORS N214 Ride on Roller Novice course focuses on building your skills to operate ride-on rollers safely and efficiently. It covers pre-start checks, operating procedures, site travel, compaction techniques, safety procedures, and understanding the machine's limitations.

The course will also help you recognize compacted and uncompacted areas, conditions that may cause instability, and how to handle situations like working up to unsupported edges or loading/unloading from a transporter.

Candidates must have passed the CSCS Health and Safety test (within the last 24 months).

Candidates must complete an end of course practical assessment and knowledge test that has a clear pass or fail criteria as set out by the card scheme.
