Lovers of the creative arts are being invited to attend a showcase of the very best of the next generation of Cornish creative talent.
The annual end of year show for Art, Design and Photography at Cornwall College St Austell will include a variety of student’s final creative pieces.
The range of artwork and installations has been produced by students studying A-level, vocational and part-time courses in a wide range of disciplines. Examples of the impressive artwork on display will include fine art, graphic design, illustration, photography and textiles.
Conceptual Art Student Isaac Rogers used the Art Block building as his canvas for his end of year project by stenciling the words ‘Something that means nothing has to mean something’ straight onto the wall.
Isaac said he was “really happy to be a part of the collaboration with the college”.
“I’d like to thank the college for the letting me do such a bold piece of artwork, I’m really pleased with the way it turned out,” he added.
Curriculum Lead for Visual Arts across The Cornwall College Group, Lisa Mortensen, said the summer show “is a fantastic showcase for the talents of our students”.
“It’s a celebration of all they have accomplished throughout their time at the College and this year will be better than ever,” she continued.
“We welcome the public to come along and see the impressive standard of work for themselves.”
The exhibition will be open to the public from Monday 25th June to Wednesday 27th June, from 10am-4pm in the The Art Block, Cornwall College St Austell, John Keay House, Tregonissey Rd, St Austell PL25 4DJ.
