Local students from Cornwall and Devon have used foot power, cakes and silence to raise over £200 for Cancer Research.

The Vocational & Work-related Studies students from Cornwall College Saltash took part in a 10k sponsored walk of laps from the College to the Tamar Bridge, a bake sale and a sponsored silence.

Student Empathy Tubbritt, said they were “really proud of completing the 10k walk.”

“We were really tired but it is great to be part of a group to raise money for Cancer Research.”

Team Lead for Vocational & Work-related Studies at Cornwall College Saltash, Roxy Kilmurray, said she is “so proud of the hard work that was put in to raise this fantastic amount of money for charity.”

“The activities also supported the learners during their assignment so the skills they used help to determine their final grade at the same time as supporting this amazing charity.”
