Duchy College Equine Team Lead, Nicky du Plessis, proved that hard work, dedication and perseverance paid off when she qualified as a List 2 British Dressage Judge.
Following extensive training, Nicky sat the exam at the prestigious Wellington Premier League, where she was examined judging ten Prix St Georges competitors. This qualification makes Nicky one of only two List 2 judges in the whole of Devon and Cornwall.
Amanda Heath, British Dressage’s South West (BDSW) Regional Development Officer, said: “Nicky du Plessis is a very respected and experienced dressage judge and coach. She is a very active volunteer for British Dressage and we are delighted at her successful upgrade to a List 2 Judge. She is an asset to the sport and dedicated to the progression of riders and coaches. Congratulations Nicky on your well-deserved success and thank you from BDSW for you continued dedication and support.”
Nicky is a staunch advocate of continued professional development and she has set an exemplary example to her team and has fitted in all her training and exams around her work commitments.
Rob Dunn, Head of Campus at Duchy College, Stoke Climsland said: “We are all very proud of Nicky and her achievements. I’m sure that having this calibre of judge and trainer in our midst is going to benefit both Duchy College & Bicton College’s Equestrian Centres who often had to recruit judges from further afield.”
