A Professional Cookery student is celebrating after gaining employment with a national hotel chain.
Former Cornwall College Saltash student, Corey McNeil, has joined Future Inns in Plymouth as a Food and Beverage Assistant within the Front of House team at Fishbone Restaurant.
Food and Beverage Manager at Future Inn Plymouth, James Kazer, said Corey has “integrated very well within the team and undertakes all duties allocated to him professionally and with ease.”
“He has learnt our menu in a timely manner which helps us and customers alike to ensure they get the best service possible. Already Corey is a valuable member of the team and we look forward to working with him and developing him for his future career path.”
Future Inn Hotel in Plymouth is located just three miles away from Plymouth city centre, with venues also in Bristol and Cardiff.
Corey, who lives in Plymouth and previously attended Marine Academy, said the team at Future Inn Plymouth have “been very welcoming, and straight away made me feel part of the team.”
“I’m learning something new every day, enhancing skills I already have and developing new ones. I am thoroughly enjoying my new role and look forward to see what new challenges it brings,” Corey continued.
“I studied at Cornwall College Saltash for five years and it was amazing. I wouldn’t be where I am today if it wasn’t for the kind and caring staff, their enthusiasm and dedication to push and challenge me has always been and always will be evident in everything I do in my career going forward.”
Team Lead for Professional Cookery at Cornwall College Saltash, Chris Penk, said “it’s amazing to see the efforts of one of our young students come to fruition.”
