Metal Clay intermediates

Taught by award winning local artist Julia Rai, this course is designed for those who have previous experience in the basic metal clay techniques and wish to continue to develop and learn more advanced skills. Techniques covered will include ring making, joining dry to wet elements, designing for specific outcomes and working with syringe clay to produce hollow filigree forms. This course will also include guidance on how to apply these techniques to design and make your own individual jewellery. The final 2 sessions will allow students to work on their own designs with tutor support. Please wear old clothes or bring an apron to protect your clothes and footwear should not be open toed. total material cost is £40.00 per person, this includes 10g fine silver syringe type clay, 1 set of surgical steel ear wires, two embeddable eyelets. Costs for students own designs will depend on the projects chosen. Students may bring their own materials following discussion with the tutor or pay for materials used, in this instance there will be an additional  materials charge of £40.00 payable to the tutor at the 1st session.
