ESIF Programme ERDF

The Cornwall College Group has received grants from the European Regional Development Fund. The European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) Operational Programme is part of the European Structural and Investment Funds Growth Programme for England in 2014-2020. ERDF is a key funding instrument of EU cohesion policy which aims to promote economic, social and territorial cohesion. ERDF is specifically focussed on investment to support economic growth and job creation in order to reduce intra and inter regional economic disparities within the EU.

BREAKTHROUGH 2

This project is led by The Cornwall College Group through its Unlocking Potential team. The service provides support for ERDF-eligible businesses in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly to help them achieve their growth potential. The programme is designed for ambitious new and early stage businesses who are building momentum. Support includes a two-day start-up workshop and the possibility of coaching, mentoring, tailored workshops, and support to employ a first employee or graduate with businesses guided through the programme by an experienced Business Development Manager from the Unlocking Potential team.

MARINE i 2

This collaboration between the Universities of Exeter and Plymouth, The Cornwall College Group (TCCG), Cornwall Marine Network, Cornwall Development Company and the Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult aims to bring a new generation of innovation in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly’s marine sector.  TCCG will deliver and oversee nine-month innovation projects in which a graduate is placed into a business to carry out a specific project.

AGRI-TECH CORNWALL AND THE ISLES OF SCILLY

This is a collaboration between the Universities of Exeter and Plymouth, The Cornwall College Group (TCCG), Rothamsted Research and Cornwall Development Company which aims to create a new sector for the Cornish economy, helping the United Kingdom become a world leader in agricultural technology and sustainability.

The project is led by the Duchy College Rural Business School and will support ambitious small and medium-sized Cornish companies to develop innovations to improve efficiency, profitability and resilience in the agricultural sector. The Rural Business School and its project partners will support research, development and innovation with research grants, vouchers and graduate placements.

DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION

This project, led by Cornwall College’s Unlocking Potential team has been designed to support Cornwall’s growing digital sector. Digital Transformation was developed in collaboration with Software Cornwall, who will act as a strategic partner to the project. The Unlocking Potential team will support digital SMEs to increase productivity, bring new products to market and grow, whilst non-digital SMEs will be supported by Digital Innovators to help them implement digital solutions. The project delivers a regular programme of inspiring digital events to encourage collaboration and innovation in the sector.

INTERREG RECONSTRUCTED SOILS

This is a collaborative project led by Plymouth University to develop and deliver a blueprint for the production and use of reconstructed soils as a low carbon technology across the channel region and wider.  Eden Project Learning, a collaboration between The Cornwall College Group and the Eden Project, will utilise their key expertise in plant and soil science through its public engagement at the Eden Project and Citizen Science, as well as through training a range of beneficiary and stakeholder groups.

The ReCon Soil project has a total budget of €2.5m, of which €1.8m is funded by the European Regional Development Fund via the Interreg France (Channel) England (FCE) Programme.
