This course is a perfect progression from the Level 1 Diploma in Light Vehicle Maintenance Technician and develops existing knowledge by examining the components of vehicle servicing in more detail, preparing you with an advanced skillset necessary for success in a fast-moving and dynamic industry.

The Vehicle Service Technician Diploma Level 2 involves both practical workshop activity and theory sessions, making it the perfect course for you if you enjoy hands-on work and getting stuck in, and would like to develop an advanced knowledge of the automotive industry.

You will:

Study health and safety, tools and materials, automotive job roles, batteries, wheels, tyres, brakes, exhaust systems and associated systems
Use the latest equipment and vehicles in a realistic, industry standard environment
Develop soft skills, such as communication and employer expectations, to prepare you for the industry
Have opportunities for work experience alongside your studies
Gain the practical skills needed to complete your GCSE English and Maths
Gain a broad knowledge and understanding of health and safety in the workplace and other skills associated with working in a garage.

Our workshop features industry-standard equipment and kit, exactly like a working garage. We also have a strong partnership with the Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI), so employers know an automotive qualification from The Cornwall College Group means you have the very best skills as a mechanic or technician.
