Understanding Grief; the complexities explored (Free Course)
This free workshop is designed for professionals working in the helping professions or for those in training, who wish to work threapeutically with grief and loss.
Held by a qualified counsellor, you will explore contemporary thinking around the concept of death and grieving and associated cultural differences. Anticipatory grief processes will be explained, as will complex traumatic grief responces, associated with violent or suddent death, including suicide. You will also learn about the ongoing emotional difficulties surrounding inquests and probate, and the resulting family dynamics that are affected by loss.
The workshop will include case studies and group discussion, where we encourage participants to bring their own experiences and collectively we will learn how to best support people who are bereaved.
We recommend that attendees are mindful of their emotional relationship with this subject area, and understand that this is a short CPD training course.
