Delivered at Cornwall College St Austell, our qualification consists of a range of units that enable you to learn, develop and practice skills required for employment. These include holiday parks, tour operator companies, travel agencies, tourist information centres, tourist attractions, cruise line companies, conference events organisations and airlines.

Learners studying with us have the opportunity to take overseas trips as well as UK city and coastal breaks. Destinations we’ve travelled to before include Paris, New York, Barcelona, London and many locations within the UK.
We are focused on our learners having real-life experiences and seeing the industry for themselves; therefore, we provide our learners with many days-trips throughout the academic year. Recent day trips-include Tintagel, Wadebridge, Padstow, Mevagissey, St Ives, Plymouth, Exeter and many more. Learners take part in different events, including the Padstow Christmas Festival.

  What You Will Learn

While studying on the one-year BTEC Level 2 Travel and Tourism course, you will cover a wide range of modules developing your skills and knowledge in different areas within the industry. You will have the opportunity to develop practical, employability and interpersonal skills. Learners also have the opportunity to study a range of curriculum planned activities alongside this course.

  Entry Requirements

Four GCSEs at grade 3 ideally including English and mathematics.

  Work Experience

As part of your course you will be required to carry out Work Experience and/or an Industry Placement

  Assessment

Continuous ongoing assessment takes place throughout the academic year to develop a portfolio of evidence. These include role-plays with your peers and members of the public, presentations, online multiple-choice exams, customer service based practical assessments, teambuilding activities, and written reports.

  Progression

When you have completed the Level 2 course, you will have the underpinning knowledge of the tourism industry to enable you to be ready progress on to the more advanced Level 3 courses. The Level 3 courses also include a full Diploma and a stand-alone NCFE Qualification in Cabin Crew. The courses include work experience and work placements where you will be working in the tourism industry, gaining valuable industry experience, and often leading to employment.?

Come and join us on our Level 3 Diploma in Travel and Tourism. Our qualification consists of a range of units. That enable you to learn, develop and practice skills required for employment in aviation, rail, holiday parks, tour operator companies, travel agencies, tourist information centres, tourist attractions, cruise line companies or conference events organisations.? The tourism industry consists of many processes, systems and activities which enable tourists to enjoy their experience whilst away from home. This course focuses specifically on developing your knowledge and skills to be able to work in this ever-growing sector by exploring and going behind the scenes to identify the elements that make up the tourism industry. Economically tourism is one of the most important industrial activities in the world. If you’re looking for that first step towards a career in the exciting world of events, then our Live Events & Promotions apprenticeship could be the right choice for you. Throughout the course can expect event management workshops, guest speakers and visits. You will also have the opportunity to work directly in a technical, artistic and administrative capacity in either small or large scale, indoor or outdoor events, depending on your apprenticeship provider.
