The purpose of this qualification is to develop knowledge of special educational needs and disabilities, how individuals with SEND are impacted on a day-to-day basis, and how to support them to live independent and fulfilling lives.
Bursaries available
The Cornwall College Group (TCCG) is committed to helping as many adults as possible to access our courses and we may be able to offer support with essential equipment such as a laptop to complete your online course. Students would need to meet the criteria for ASF funding and for bursary to be eligible for a laptop. The laptop would only be loaned for the duration of your studies, so you would not be allowed to keep it afterwards. All laptops would need to be returned to Cornwall College St Austell after completion of your course. Materials for internal assessment must be submitted to The Equal Platform for approval prior to use and must be mapped to the relevant unit, learning outcome and assessment criteria. All learning outcomes must be met to achieve a Pass – there is no grading.
The qualification is assessed by internally set and marked assessments subject to external quality assurance. Where indicated in the unit specifications, assessment must meet the requirements of the identified assessment strategy/principles.
Materials for internal assessment must be submitted to The Equal Platform for approval prior to use and must be mapped to the relevant unit, learning outcome and assessment criteria. All learning outcomes must be met to achieve a Pass – there is no grading.
