This course could change your life it’s an active well paid job your after and you want to travel the world. The course will enable you to take your carpentry skills far beyond the usual DIY level and give you an understanding of general building construction along with the part a carpenter plays in the construction of al sorts of buildings.

The course will enable you to work confidently in a construction related work place. All of our training takes place in a construction related environment and with carpentry you’ll be working on your own timber frame house either in our large workshops or outside to add a bit more site realism to the course.

We have a large range to tools and equipment for you to practice with, you’ll also have access during the course to our wood machine shop to experience the machines we have. Your teaching will be delivered by highly experienced qualified trades people who have many years’ experience of working in the construction industry.

  What You Will Learn

You will learn all the above as well as sharpening techniques, care of your tools and how to use then safely. You will learn to work as part of a team, You will learn how to plan and undertake techniques to complete your project. You will be involved in discussion about technique and methods.

You will be taught all aspects of carpentry activities from laying floors to fitting kitchen and fitting roofs. By the end of the course you will achieve a qualification Yes! But you will also have the experience of the carpentry staff passed onto you and complete backup of that team which means that you will be able to work in any construction site in the world with confidence.

  Work Experience

None needed but experience will help you put into practice what you are being taught.

  Assessment

You will be assessed variously, by exam, both online and written. You will also be assessed by your tutor through practical tasks.

  Progression

Site Carpentry Diploma Level 3 or the Site Carpentry Advanced Apprenticeship Level 3. You may also be able to enter the workplace in a junior role if you have gained your Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) accreditation.

Plumbing Apprenticeship

If you like getting your hands dirty, fixing things and implementing a science that dates back to the Roman times, Plumbing might just be for you?? The first thing you’ll notice about this course is that it’s about practical learning – you’ll be spending a lot of time in our workshop, learning by doing as you work with a range of materials including Copper, steel and plastic. You will also be learning the theory behind the ‘science’ You’ll be looking at everything: Pipe, fittings, radiators, boilers, guttering and sanitary ware. Basically, if it holds water we will be up to our necks in it (not literally I hope?!) Along with how we can move and heat it. Our workshop features industry-standard equipment and kit, exactly like you would find in any Plumbers van. We also have a strong partnership with many manufacturers and industry bodies, so employers know a plumbing qualification from The Cornwall College Group means you have the very best skills. So, if you want a trade and want a career working with resources which are essential to our lives, this is the best place to start. As a Level 3 course, this NVQ standard is all about immersing you in the Plumbing and heating industry and developing your essential skills. Bench Joinery Diploma

This course will give you opportunities for work both locally and if you want to travel the world. The course will enable you to take your Joinery skills far beyond the level 2 and give you a more advanced understanding of building construction along with the part a Bench Joiner plays in the manufacture of building components and how they fit into the construction of all sorts of buildings. The course will enable you to work confidently in a Joinery workshop. All of our training takes place in our state of the art joinery workshop to add a bit more work realism to the course that reflects the equipment available in industry. We have a large range to tools and equipment for you to practice with, you’ll also have access during the course to our wood machine shop to experience the machines we have. Your teaching will be delivered by highly experienced qualified trade’s people who have many years’ experience of working in the construction industry as bench joiners.
