During this one day workshop you will make a set of three silver stacking rings to wear yourself or give to someone as a gift.

Throughout the day you will learn basic jewellery techniques, such as sizing, soldering, filing, texturing and polishing.

This workshop is a great introduction to working with silver and can be followed by our Silver Jewellery Beginners course.


These workshops are now full. But if you would like to be added to the waiting list please email your full name, DOB and contact details to us at adult.community.learning@cornwall.ac.uk and we will contact you if any places become available or if we are able to add new dates.


This is a FREE* workshop - apply for a place now.

* There will be a materials fee of £25.00 payable when booking.
* This workshop will be free for students who will be 19+ as of 31.08.21 and have not attended the workshop before. If you have already attended this workshop and wish to repeat it a fee will apply.

This workshop runs on a Saturday from 9.30am to 4.00pm.

Creative Art – Your Road to Wellbeing

This course will focused on the wellbeing of making – Led by The Creative Gym founder and tutor Nicky Harwood. You will be able to access a variety of techniques and learn skills such as printing, macramé, lino printing, weaving and watercolour painting. The tutor will give you guidance to achieve your goals and you can adapt them to make your own creations. Your road to wellbeing courses are relaxed and informal, enabling you to improve your wellbeing and mental health, building your self-confidence, and a great way to make friends. Our courses are for anyone aged 19 plus who is experiencing or recovering from mental illness. Our courses run one day per week, over 10 to 13 weeks per term. If you miss the start of the course don’t worry, you can join the courses at any time.

Improvers Silver Jewellery

This course is designed for individuals who feel confident using basic jewellery techniques, such as those taught during the beginner course, e.g. soldering, piecing, filing etc (please see Silver Jewellery Beginners course description) Materials are provided for the first project and your tutor will advise you of where you can buy any further materials you need. Please wear old clothes or bring an apron to protect your clothes and footwear should not be open toed. Please bring a note pad and pen. This course will run from 18:00 to 21:00

Silver Jewellery – Improvers (Evening)

No Qualification • Part-time • Cornwall College Camborne


This course is designed for individuals who feel confident using basic jewellery techniques, such as those taught during the beginner course, e.g. soldering, piecing, filing etc (please see Silver Jewellery Beginners course description). This course will enable the participant to create lovely silver jewellery with bezel set semi-precious stones advancing to the skill of setting popular locally found sea glass and will also include guidance on how to apply these techniques to design and make your own individual jewellery. Materials are provided for the first project and your tutor will advise you of where you can buy any further materials you need. Please wear old clothes or bring an apron to protect your clothes and footwear should not be open toed. Please bring a note pad and pen. These courses are now full.
