To introduce people to martial arts; touching on all basic modalities of my 'brand' if you will:
Kickboxing, Self Defence & MA-Related Fitness Training. I hope to help make the students aware of the vast positive implications of martial arts training over the six week period: physical fitness, psychological well being, confidence gained through improving in a physical and mental craft, as well as learning and considering philosophical principles for life.

  What You Will Learn

Six Week Martial Arts Introduction Course; the fundamentals of Kickboxing and Self Defence with our amazing instructor, Adam Spittlehouse.

I originally enrolled on the Level 2 course purely to gain the qualification to become a reputable health and fitness journalist (after graduating with a journalism degree). But the course was so interesting, informative and fun that I couldn't resist staying on to complete the Level 3! I didn't even want to leave after that!

The qualifications enabled me to spend a few years working as a personal trainer and gym instructor alongside my writing work. And I know for certain that the knowledge and experience I gained from both the courses and my time spent working as a trainer has enabled me to write content at a much higher standard. It's also helped when interviewing high-level fitness professionals for articles as I can actually understand what they're talking about, which has given me a distinct advantage when pitching articles within the fitness industry. The knowledge has also improved my own training, so it's a win-win!

This qualification is specifically for learners holding a Level 2 qualification in Gym Instruction or equivalent or Level 3 Personal Trainers who are aspiring to acquire the additional knowledge and competencies required to plan and deliver safe and effective kettlebell exercises and training sessions. This course will develop your career on an employed or self-employed basis, and will allow you to add kettlebell exercises to your client’s workouts in just two-days! This qualification is endorsed by The Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity (CIMSPA) and The Register of Exercise Professionals (REPs). BSc (Hons) Marine Sports Science (Level 6 only)

Level 6 • Part-time • Cornwall College Camborne

This programme is studied as a one year top-up from a relevant foundation degree, where you will complete Year 3 only. Based at our main Cornwall College Newquay campus you will have the opportunity to study a number of different modules relating to the ocean environment in which you practise your sport, including research into issues arising from the environmental impacts of marine sports and contemporary issues relating to the practice and development of a variety of marine sports. As an academic course you will study a range of modules reviewing current practice and literature, and you will complete an Honours project culminating in a dissertation enabling you to become an expert on a topic of interest to you. Alongside this you will explore the essential business, management, transferable and soft skills, which are key to graduate level employment. Sustainability of marine sector sporting activities and environmental awareness will be considered alongside new and developing technology in the industry.

This will be an on campus course, combining the technical coaching of functional movement and fun fitness based sessions, bringing education and fitness together for all abilities.
