About the course
This qualification is aimed at anyone interested in or starting out in a career in adult social care in England. It forms part of the Apprenticeship framework.
It is suitable if you are considering, or starting out, in a career in Adult Social Care, and need to develop basic knowledge.
No formal entry requirements but all learners will undertake inital assessment and interview at the College
What will I do on the course?
This qualification comprises 9 mandatory units including:
- Equality, diversity and inclusion
- Personal development
- Role of the social care worker
- Handling information
- Health and safety
- Duty of care
- Person centred approaches
To achieve the Level 2 Certificate in Preparing to Work in Adult Social Care (QCF) candidates will need to complete 20 credits from 9 mandatory units
College sessions provide underpinning knowledge and assessment is by assignment.
What can I do after the course?
Progression onto Health and Social Care Diploma level 2.
