Course information

The course is designed as an introductory offering for individuals wanting to ‘dip their toes’ back into education. It will focus on providing basic academic, level 2 skills with the foresight to encourage further education. The educational aims of the programme are to start the foundations of level 2 study, aiming at learners that have maybe been out of education for some time or did not succeed in education previously. The course is aimed at those that would like to explore entry back into education and encourage exploration of future career and educational opportunities.

On successful completion, learners will achieve the NOCN Level 2 Award in Skills for Employment, Training and Personal Development. The course consists of two modules, these Include-

• Investigating a Career- Level 2, 3 credits
• Understanding mental health- Level 2, 3 credits

There are no formal entry requirements but learners will be expected to attend and interview.

Learners will use a range of assessment methods from essay writing, presentation skills and discussion skills.

Successful completion can lead to further level 2 study including GCSE's and the NOCN Level 2 certificate in Skills for Employment, Training and Personal Development.
