The course provides in-depth study and training for anyone interested in a career in the Health services or Social Care field and 2 days per week in a range of health and social care settings. It also provides the theory and experience, which will be invaluable for progression into higher education, such as a nursing degree or into employment in the health sector as a practitioner in a variety of settings.

You will gain UCAS tariff points that will allow you to progress to university to study degrees such as midwifery, social work, teaching, care management, nursing or other care related subjects.

What you will learn

The one year course achieves the certificate however the two year programme provides the extended diploma.

Through hands-on learning you will learn about a number of interesting areas including growth and development, nutrition, communication and equality and diversity. You will also develop your practical skills through a placement in a health and social care setting which will give you working knowledge of current practice and build on your skills to be an effective team member.

The training facility will have a range of the latest equipment and technology used in the health and social care sector. These will help you develop your work skills, whether you are looking to specialise in a care setting, or clinical environment.

Our experienced tutors will give you the skills and confidence to be able to develop person centred care plans and respond to individuals needs effectively.
