Manual Metal Arc Welding Skills Award

Introductory welding skills in MMA. This qualification will teach you the fundamental underpinning knowledge, relevant to your chosen welding process including, safety, use of equipment and choice on consumables. Your will learn how to set the welding parameters and electrical conditions, relevant to the welding process required and material to be joined. Furthermore you will develop the practical skills required to safely produce five practical welding tests in the flat horizontal/vertical positions.

You will produce welds and visually assess that they meet the requirements of the weld procedure specification (WPS). Upon completion of the knowledge section and welded joints, training and continue towards BS4872 coded welding
