We provide full training and assessment for a wide range of LPG Gas qualifications. You may also undertake a refresher course or introductory training prior to assessment if needed in our state-of-the-art training facilities at Cornwall College Camborne.

Training is not a prerequisite to assessment, you may just book onto an assessment and certification programme.

This course can change your earning potential and your ability to find work anywhere in the world. The question is what do you want to do? This course will enable you to fit out very high specification interiors in cars, motorhomes, super Yachts, planes or design and fit kitchens, offices, shops or set up your own furniture making business. The course is delivered here at the Camborne campus within the dedicated furniture suite where we have a large maker’s workshop, a design room, a power tool room and a finishing room as well as access to the wood machine/ joinery workshop. Bricklaying Diploma

Could not see yourself in an office? Enjoy working outside? This could be the course for you. This course is a great start or to advance your career as a bricklayer. The first thing you’ll notice about this course is that it’s about practical learning – you’ll be spending a lot of time in our workshop, learning by doing as you work on a range of materials and tools. This will support your in advancing you knowledge and your employability As a Level 2 course, this diploma is all about advancing your knowledge to the bricklaying industry and developing your essential skills. You’ll be learning from experienced and professional bricklayers, who are there to give you the very best start to your career. We do everything in our workshop: from brick to block work, line work, piers, corners, one brick thick walls, cavity walls, arches, render and finish plastering and much more! As you more up course levels these units will get more complicated as you progress through the course. Entry level positions start at £23,414 per year while most experienced workers make up to £52,000 per year. Our workshop features industry-standard equipment and kit, exactly like a working site. Gas Engineering Apprenticeship

Level 3 • Work-based • Cornwall College Camborne


If you are a practical person, who enjoys a challenge, problem solving and making a real difference in people’s lives, then a career as a gas engineer could well be the path for you. You will spend time learning gas theory here with us at Cornwall College covering all aspects from natural gas combustion to gas appliance installation. We build a good understanding of the science and meaning behind gas appliances and how they work and test our understanding by getting hands on in the work shop and of course, you’ll be working with qualified engineers, meeting the required criteria, in the workplace. To undertake this course no prior knowledge of plumbing or gas is required however it would be an advantage if you have some experience. All subjects will be covered whilst attending the course, however some homework and additional study will be required in your own time. We have built you a strong online moodle page full of information, power points, handouts, work sheets and mock papers to help you revise at your own pace.. Moodle is a great place to pick up required resources on the days that you are not attending college. With determination and a keen spirit, the hard work will pay off in only 2 years when you will achieve a City & Guilds level 3 Diploma in Gas Engineering.
