Learn to use your overlock machine - bring along any make or model of overlock machine in good working order and your manual.

By the end of the workshop you should feel confident setting up and using your machine. You will learn how to thread your machine from scratch and how to get the tension correct on different fabrics. You will also learn how to set your machine to do different stitches for different sewing processes.

For this workshop, as well as your own overlock machine and manual, you will also need your general sewing kit, including fabric scissors, tape measure, pins, tailor's chalk or other fabric marker, needles and thread.

You will need small pieces of a variety of different fabrics, including woven and knitted constructions for your practise samples.

You will also need to bring fabric and thread to make a product in the afternoon, depending on the requirements of the group, and you will be informed of the amounts needed nearer the start date.
