The Leader in Adult Care will guide and inspire teams to make positive differences to someone’s life when they are faced with physical, practical, social, emotional, psychological or intellectual challenges. They will be a leader of the care team and will develop and implement a values-based culture at a service or unit level. They may be responsible for business development, financial control, organisational resilience and continuity as well as for managing risk and leading on organisational change. Leaders in Adult Care may work in residential or nursing homes, domiciliary care, community day centres, a person’s own home or some clinical healthcare settings. Typical job titles include registered, assistant, deputy, unit or service manager.

My time at Cornwall College has quite literally changed my life. Completing the access course has allowed me to progress onto university and fulfill my dream of becoming a midwife.

I chose Cornwall College as the hours for the access course suited my family commitments. After attending an open day, I was also impressed with the support available to students.

The support I have received from my lecturers, my tutor and fellow students has been amazing. After being out of education for 15 years the access course has given me the skills and confidence to progress onto university. The learning curve over the last 9 months has been incredible and I will be forever grateful to those that supported me.
