Introduction to building one brick garden walling (Saturday Skills)

This six hour course has been designed to offer an introduction to the setting out of one brick width walls in a range of brickwork bonds to include English and Flemish bonds. The programme will be delivered in the well equipped practical workshop at Camborne campus. Safety boots should be worn by those attending, all other tools and equipment are provided.

What you will learn

In this introductory course, you will learn how to construct one brick width walls using a range of brick bonds. You will be introduced to the tools, materials, and techniques needed to lay bricks properly, including how to mix mortar, how to cut bricks to fit, and how to use a spirit level to ensure that your wall is straight and level. You will also learn how to choose the right brick bond for your project based on factors such as the style of your wall and the type of bricks being used. By the end of the course, you will have the skills and knowledge needed to build a sturdy and attractive brick wall with confidence.
