HIIT & GROOVE BOOTCAMP!

Join us at The Keay Theatre St Austell College for 6 weeks of fun and energetic HIIT workouts. Each session will include a warm up/cool down to dance music and a follow along HIIT work out including elements of boxing, band work and focus zones including your upper body, core and glutes.

This course is an intermediate level.

Start Time - 17:30:00 End Time-18:30:00

  What You Will Learn

The 6-week bootcamp course will cover a range of different exercises to strengthen and tone different parts of your body.
You will learn techniques that you can use at home, warm up correctly and safely ready for a lively workout.

“I started my journey into the fitness world at Cornwall College over 5 years ago when I decided to train to be a gym instructor. From there, I went on to become a Personal Trainer and then completed a degree. After finishing my degree I started up my own Personal Training business called Inner Strength PT. I quickly discovered there is far more to personal training than just getting someone fit, it’s a whole package. So many different aspects were covered through my education at Cornwall College, from business management, to the psychological barriers that people have to exercise.
"The college really helped me gain the knowledge and the capabilities to be able to streamline my business to where I am now. This has helped immensely as I am able to work with each individual client, helping to build self confidence and self esteem, whilst seeing them get fitter not only physically but also mentally. We really are very fortunate to have such a great college on our doorsteps.”

This qualification is specifically for learners holding a Level 2 qualification in Gym Instruction or equivalent who are aspiring to branch out into the world of group exercise instruction and expand their skills to become qualified in Instructing Circuit Training. This course will develop your career on an employed or self-employed basis, and will allow you to add group classes to your clients in just two-weeks! This qualification is mapped directly to The Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity (CIMSPA) professional standards for a Circuit Group Exercise Instructor. This course combines elements of both practical and theoretical learning where you will have the opportunity to apply the theory of circuit training in our on-campus sports hall, fully equipped gym and outdoor circuit training on one of our many green outdoor areas or 3G pitch. Our industry-experienced lecturers are all fully qualified and practicing professionals themselves and will guide you every step of the way, enabling you to deliver quality circuit training classes. You’ll be learning everything industry requires. In essence, you’ll be developing all of the essential skills you need to become a Circuit Training Instructor. Our highly-skilled and motivated staff have a wealth of knowledge and experience and are here to give you the very best advice and guidance.

Functional fitness

No Qualification • Distance Learning • Cornwall College St Austell


The more you train functionally, the better you’ll become at working your entire body as one system. Functional training also gives you an excellent kinesthetic awareness (awareness of how your body moves) and teaches you how to move safely. All of these skills are pretty important in everyday life and in the gym, allowing us to move purposefully and confidently and helping us stay sturdy, strong, and safe. This course will run from 9:30-10:30 am Monday 1st March to Monday 8th March (excluding weekends).

Functional training is essential to everyday life for all of us, understanding how the body should move will slow improved movement in everyday life and in training. Combine this with some functional fitness workouts to improve overall health and this course is perfect for absolutely all abilities and ages! This will be an on campus course, combining the technical coaching of functional movement and fun fitness based sessions, bringing education and fitness together for all abilities.
