Course information
Globally we are thinking more than ever about our natural world, the world has moved on from the traditional thinking of zoology, where habitats and species exist in almost isolated units, to more progressive thinking of ecosystems operating with both animal and habitat reliant on the other.
This course is designed for those students that want to progress into employment within ecology and conservation - whether it is working as an ecologist on conservation programmes in the UK or abroad or working in Ecological Consultancy. The first stage sets students with the basics in ecological theory, survey techniques, statistics and scientific report writing.
Stage two allows the students to follow one of two pathways, either specialising more on UK-based conservation and ecology or taking a more global conservation focus, with the optional modules of One Plan Conservation and Global Conservation Issues.
This course is also offered with a Science Gateway option if you would like to study FdSc Zoology with Ecology and Conservation but don’t have the right qualifications or grades to do so.
