Do you like a challenge? Are you a practical, hand-on problem solver? If the answer is ‘yes’ to these questions then a fulfilling career in the electrical industry may be for you and the Level 1 in Electrical Installation is the perfect first step to take!
You will spend time learning electrical theories in the classroom and then put these into practise in our extensive and dedicated electrical workshop. Cornwall College is proud of its recently created Mezzanine practical workspace, which houses well-stocked working bays featuring industry standard kit for you to put your newfound skills into practise.
As a Level 1 student, you will gain a solid understanding of many aspects of the electrical industry, including wiring circuits, health and safety, installation methods, wiring systems, basic testing, renewables and much more.
Our team of lecturer’s and course managers are friendly, approachable and bring a wealth of knowledge and experience from a wide variety of electrical backgrounds. They will guide and support you on your journey making sure that you get the most out of the course.
The Level 1 diploma is all about introducing you to the electrical industry and developing your essential skills. Successful completion of the course can see you move onto our full time Level 2 course to further develop your skills or perhaps an apprenticeship is more your style and is a great alternative. Many students either progress onto the full time Level 2 course or choose to gain an apprenticeship with a local employer and earn whilst they learn. It is finding out the route that works best for you.
Cornwall College also offer the Level 2 & Level 3 course, which can springboard you into taking the steps to becoming a fully qualified Electrician.
