If you are passionate about plants and fascinated by ­flowers then a career in horticulture is the right choice for you and an apprenticeship is a great way to earn money while learning new skills at the same time. There is a wide range of careers available in this sector including employment in garden retailing, plant nurseries, edibles production, landscaping, parks and gardens, and turf care. Our apprenticeships are designed to help you focus your skills and decide which career path is best for you.

An apprenticeship will allow you to earn money while you are studying. In order to start your apprenticeship in horticulture you can either join our Level 3 apprenticeship, depending on your GCSE results, or you can choose one of our Level 2 courses.

Our industry links with partners like the Eden Project, ensure that you will study in a hugely inspiring and totally engaging environment during your time on this apprenticeship.

  What You Will Learn

Study horticulture at the iconic Eden Project and work with Eden’s world-class horticultural team to gain practical and theoretical knowledge of plants from all over the world. You will also have the opportunity to specialise in one of the seven sectors of horticulture at Eden: the rainforest biome, outdoor biome, Mediterranean biome, outer estate, nursery, temporary display and science team.

  Entry Requirements

GCSEs in English and maths at grade 3. You will also need to be employed by Eden or a company with a similar ethos, and all your learning will take place at Eden


To the Horticulture Advanced Apprenticeship Level 3, or find employment in the industry.

Would you like to be a member of cabin crew, overseas resort rep or ski chalet host, to name a few? Then if so, this is the course for you! Come and join us on our Level 3 Diploma in Travel and Tourism. Our qualification consists of a range of units. That enable you to learn, develop and practice skills required for employment in aviation, rail, holiday parks, tour operator companies, travel agencies, tourist information centres, tourist attractions, cruise line companies or conference events organisations.? The tourism industry consists of many processes, systems and activities which enable tourists to enjoy their experience whilst away from home. This course focuses specifically on developing your knowledge and skills to be able to work in this ever-growing sector by exploring and going behind the scenes to identify the elements that make up the tourism industry. Economically tourism is one of the most important industrial activities in the world. More than 1 billion people take international tourist trips every year, and this number is increasing year on year. Tourism accounts for over 10% of global GDP and one in every 11 jobs. We have high success rates, and you can see on our social media feeds that many of our learners are now working as cabin crew, travel advisers, overseas resort reps, on cruise ships and in the rail industry. When people say “the world is your oyster” the tourism industry and tourism jobs are one of the only sectors that enables you to travel and explore the world whiles you are working. So, if you are looking for an exciting and rewarding career in the travel and tourism industry, whether that’s as a cabin crew member, an overseas resort representative, a travel agent, a ski chalet host, a receptionist in hotels and holiday parks, or you want to work on a cruise ship, or event management, this course is perfect for you. We work closely with travel and tourism organisations to ensure you have the relevant skills needed by employers. As part of our Travel and Tourism Training Suite we have a cabin crew training replica, overseas resort representative training venue, tourist information point and reception for you to practice the skills you need. Our students also experience working on a BAC 1-11 aircraft at the Cornwall Heritage Aviation Centre. As well as delivering a wide range of skills and knowledge, our industry focus and employability ethos means that we have some of the best connections and partnerships to really help boost your career. For those looking to enhance their CVs, we have partnered up with specialist organisations such as Falmouth Events, The National Trust, St Ives Bay Holiday Park and Cornwall Aviation Heritage Centre. Swissport (airport ground handling services) also endorses our cabin crew qualification. Students take part in high profile events, like the Tall Ships Regatta, Falmouth Oyster Festival and the Padstow Christmas Festival. Students also have the opportunity to travel on a UK or overseas residential study visit; recent destinations include Barcelona, Paris, Disneyland and London.
