This workshop covers the basics of these rewarding and beautiful mediums. It will guide all abilities through different pastel and painting abstract techniques to develop new skills and ideas for using watercolour, acrylic and pastel.

This workshop is suitable for all those who have a little drawing and painting experience as well as the more experienced.

You will be required to provide your own materials for this workshop and a suggested materials list will be provided nearer the start date.


This is a FREE* workshop - book now so you don't miss out!

* This workshop will be free for students who will be 19+ as of 31.08.21 and have not attended the workshop before. If you have already attended this workshop and wish to repeat it a fee will apply.

The FdA Art & Design Practice is a radical and innovative interdisciplinary art degree programme. It reflects the direction the creative industries are taking by encouraging the blurring of boundaries between traditional art and design disciplines. The freedom of the flexible curriculum allows you to nurture your creative potential and direct your study to achieve the skills and unique personal portfolio you need to enter the workplace. You will have dedicated studio workspace and access to a wide range of purpose-built workshops and digital facilities. These include textiles, photography, print making, fine art, ceramics, graphic design, and multimedia with full technical support. A key feature of the art degree programme is its engagement with a variety of employers through live briefs and input into the course by industry specialists. Through ongoing professional development, the programme will build your confidence as you develop and evaluate an individual programme of study. You will learn to balance time and resources and identify opportunities which will be important skills for your chosen career. Art Textiles (Evening)

A friendly and relaxed course which allows you to explore a variety of textile processes and creative ideas. We will be using a range of artists and examples of their artwork as a starting point for conversation, inspiration and idea development. It would be helpful if you had a portable sewing machine that you can bring with you to some sessions, preferably one that does free machine embroidery. Some materials will be provide for this course. A list will be provided at the start/during the course of any other materials that you may need to bring with you. This is a FREE* course - so book now so you don't miss out! * There will be a materials fee of £20.00 payable when booking. * This course will be free for students who will be 19+ as of 31.08.21 and have not attended the course before. Silver Stacking Rings Beginners Jewellery Workshop

During this one day workshop you will make a set of three silver stacking rings to wear yourself or give to someone as a gift. Throughout the day you will learn basic jewellery techniques, such as sizing, soldering, filing, texturing and polishing. This workshop is a great introduction to working with silver and can be followed by our Silver Jewellery Beginners course. These workshops are now full.
