Love being outside? Enjoy working with your hands? Or you just not sure what path to take in construction?

This is the course for you! This will be a great first step into construction.

This course is heavily practical based which gives you a great chance to learn a massive range of hand skills which will support you when you move in to the trade area of your choosing. There will be theory lessons to support your practical knowledge as well as working on your Employability skills.

The subjects you will have a chance to learn:

Bricklaying (brick and block)
Plastering (rendering and floating)
Wood trades (wood joints)
Tilling (walls and floor)
Plumbing
Painting
Through these subjects you will learn how to us correct and safe methods with tools and equipment.

Our workshops are set up to deliver all aspect of the course with great space to push yourself and your knowledge. Our teachers and technician have a great wealth knowledge to pass on to you and will push you to find your passion for the trades. Through this course you will have a chance to learn more about yourself and where your interest is.

  What You Will Learn

This one-year course will help you to understand the basic skills needed in different trade areas. This will help you make a choice at the end of the year to which trade you want to continue learning

  Entry Requirements

There no set entry requirements. We are looking for motivated and interested individuals

  Work Experience

3 weeks (90 hours) of any construction based areas 

  Assessment

You will be assessed through practical assignments

  Progression

Once you’ve finished the multi skill course, you’ll have a good understanding of what the trades entail. The next pathway would a L1 in your Chosen trade: Bricklaying, wood trades and tilling

If you are interested in working in the construction industry, specifically learning a wood trade, we offer bench joinery qualifications at Level 2 and Level 3. Bench joinery is predominantly workshop based, where you make and prepare materials for installation on a construction site. If you were hoping for a course where the subject is just simply taught to you from a book then this is the wrong course for you, because us painters and decorators like getting hands on and stuck In! The Level 2 Diploma in Painting and Decorating is very much about practical learning, and you will be spending a lot of your time physically applying what you are learning into practice, and thus constantly improving on your decorating skills alongside learning new ones. You will be engaging in a variety of tasks, ranging from preparing a wide range of surfaces, how to apply different paint systems by brush and roller to complex areas , applying a different range of standard papers to walls and ceilings, erecting and dismantling tower scaffolds and how to create a Carrara marble specialist finish! Our work shop consists of a wonderfully extensive collection of painting and decorating equipment, access equipment, a variety of work bays (miniature rooms) that are waiting for your attention to turn them into a fresh fully re-decorated bay , this is where you can let your creativity shine as the colour schemes for your bays are in your hands!
