What will I do on the course?
You will be involved in a number of areas of study to include:
BTEC Extended Certificate in Business which covers how businesses are run, different types and models of business, who owns them and how they are organised and the way they trade I different market places. A key element is how and why businesses measure their success, how they are financed and how they get their goods and services to their potential customers. The use of online business and e-commerce is explored and you will get to design and create web pages related to a product or service.
Studied alongside this you will have the opportunity to set up and run a business for a year, as part of a team, and take part in the Young Enterprise Team programme.
To further enhance your business skills you will learn about Money and Finance and how effective use of money can help an individual and a business plan for economic success.
Each part of the course is interconnected and will build to a good stepping stone qualification that can get you into and onto different career paths and higher level qualifications.
If you haven't got English and Maths GCSE at grade C, or you need to improve aspects of your literacy or numeracy, then this will be planned into your programme by the course tutor.
What can I do after the course?
