Giving you the grounding you need in the variety of career paths in Business the Level 2 is the perfect place to dip your toe in the water,

It will provide you with an understanding of how marketing, human resources, accounts, operations, sales, project teams, management teams, directors and customer service interlink to achieve business aims and objectives.

You’ll be working within the exciting atmosphere of The Creative and Digital Academy, collaborating on a wide range of projects, performances and exhibitions with fellow academics and creatives. Our vibrant and diverse spaces mean you’ll be engaging with musicians, dancers, gamers, filmmakers and actors, all working together to grow the creative and business landscape in Cornwall. ?

  What You Will Learn

The L2 Diploma in Business will provide you with essential knowledge of how Cornwall and the UK environment impacts upon how a business plans and operates to ensure its success.

It will enable you to acquire the foundations of vital skills and the critical awareness necessary for managing teams and creating value for a business, whilst preparing you for potential L3 study. The course can provide a pathway to study Business at Level 3 which will offer a further, in-depth focus on the foundations the Level 2 has started.

The course aims to give you a varied learning experience and will be a combination of a student-centred approach to learning, involving research for assignments guest speakers, lectures, group work and discussions and, where possible, visits.

  Entry Requirements

Four GCSEs at grade 3

  Work Experience

As part of your course you may be required to undertake an industry placement/work experience.

We work in partnership with Cultivator to support local creative businesses which will enable you to network and ensure liaisons with professionals which will provide growth to your own practise and possible future employment.

  Assessment

There is a range of diverse optional units including: Recruitment and Selection, which will develop your understanding of the complex legal process involved in recruiting new staff, as well as the cost and time implications; Events Management, where you will plan and carry out your own business event, taking control of every aspect including gaining the Finance required; Creative Product Promotion, which will further develop your understanding of marketing and, in particular, the creation of promotional materials.

Each optional unit studied will encourage you to discover how the different functions combine in order to ensure operational success.

Assessment is through exams and coursework.

  Progression

Progression is to a Level 3 Course and we offer a wide variety at The Creative and Digital Academy. We recommend continued study of Business on the Level 3 National Foundation Diploma although we also offer Music, Dance, Acting, Games & Animation, Media, Art & Design, Photography and IT.

This apprenticeship is designed for people who want to train on the job and gain a nationally recognised qualification in Business Administration. If you are efficient and enjoy organising people and resources, this is a great apprenticeship for you to start your career. This apprenticeship supports a variety of administration job roles in any industry e.g. executive assistants, secretaries, administration assistants, data entry clerks and office juniors.
