This apprenticeship is designed for people who want to train on the job and gain a nationally recognised qualification in Business Administration.

If you are efficient and enjoy organising people and resources, this is a great apprenticeship for you to start your career. This apprenticeship supports a variety of administration job roles in any industry e.g. executive assistants, secretaries, administration assistants, data entry clerks and office juniors.

This course consists of 3 units covering Skills, Knowledge and Behaviours. Each of the units are broken down into separate areas and can include the purpose of their organisation and value of their own role, quality in producing records or documents, and professional behaviours including respect and personal qualities.

You can expect to be supported through both college attendance and work based assessments, by highly qualified trainers and assessors with up-to-date, relevant work experience.

  What You Will Learn

Your training, usually one day every other week at college with the rest of your time spent in the workplace, will focus on these core topics:

Stakeholders
External environment factors
Relevant regulation
Policies
Business fundamentals
Processes

We will also look at skills in IT, Communication and Project Management. Along with behaviours in Professionalism, Adaptability and Responsibility.

  Entry Requirements

Where a business administrator has not already achieved Level 2 English and Maths, they must do so before taking the end-point assessment.

  Progression

University study such as our BA (Hons) Business Enterprise Management, a higher level apprenticeship in a relevant area or university study in a business administration related degree programme.

Our online, Planning campaigns module gives you the knowledge and skills to plan and implement successful campaigns that deliver real results for an organisation. You will learn the campaign planning process including how to analyse an organisation’s current position. Customer Service Practitioner Apprenticeship

Level 2 • Work-based • Cornwall College St Austell


This apprenticeship gives you the chance to choose and tailor your training to the job role of your dreams, leading to potential careers in business, marketing, sales, customer service or HR. With a focus on developing essential customer service skills at its core you will spend time at college (usually one day per week) learning skills and theory to help you in the workplace. We recommend that your start with this Level 2 apprenticeship, as this will give you and excellent grounding in all aspects and help you to decide on your future specialism. On successful completion there is the option of progressing onto the Level 3 programme. You can expect to take part in workshops delivered by industry experts with current knowledge, skills and experience within their specialist areas. Ongoing support from a team of highly qualified mentors/coaches to prepare for end point assessment as the successful completion of the apprenticeship programme. You will love the opportunity to network with other apprentices throughout the programme, sharing best practice, developing skills and knowledge from wider industry experts enabling you to develop in a specialist occupation and build the foundations of your future career.

CMI Management and Leadership Programme

Level 5 • Part-time • Cornwall College St Austell


The Level 5 CMI qualifications in management and leadership are designed for practising middle managers and those aspiring to senior management who want to develop their core management skills. To complete the Diploma you must undertake all six units/awards which will enable you to focus your personal development to grow your management capabilities and competencies. An award develops your knowledge by focusing on a specific area relevant to your job, plus a written work-based assignment. The award can also be undertaken as a non-accredited course. A certificate is two awards of your choice plus a written work-based assignment for each award. The diploma consists of seven awards plus a written work-based assignment for each award.
